Spagetti Pie
Pairs Perfectly with Michael Ros 2022 Piazza Rossa

Ingredients
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 well-beaten eggs
- 1 cup (8 ounce) cottage cheese
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup white onion, chopped
- 1 8 ounce can (1 cup ) tomatoes, diced
- 1 6 ounce can tomato paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano, crushed
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (2 ounce )
- 10” pie plate, stainer, deep skillet
Directions
1. Read over all of these instructions before starting
2. Get out all of the ingredients
3. Butter the pie plate
4. Cook the spaghetti according to the pkg directions, drain
5. Stir in the 2 tbsp butter
6. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs
7. Form spaghetti mixture into a “crust” in the pie plate
8. Spread the cottage cheese over the bottom of the spaghetti crust
You can do these steps while the spaghetti is boiling:
9. In skillet, cook ground beef, onion until meat is brown, drain
10. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, and garlic salt. Heat through
11. Pour/spread the meat mixture on top of the cottage cheese and close to the edge of the pie plate as you would do a typical pie.
12. Bake uncovered at 350° for 20 minutes
13. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese atop and bake for 3 minutes longer or until cheese melts
