Our Vineyards

Our Vineyard Philosophy

As is commonly said in the wine industry, the best wines start in the vineyard! It is important to us that we grow grapes that will thrive in the various Texas climates. That means we have targeted varietals that do well in other warm climates such as Southern France, Italy, Spain, and Argentina.

We are committed to growing our own vines so that we can control the process from the ground to glass. This means we can control the tonnage so that vines aren’t over harvested and the quality matches your expectations (and ours)! It also means we are committed to being good stewards of the Earth and being environmentally conscious. We have our own vineyards in two different Texas AVAs. Until our vineyards can support all our needs, we have also partnered with other Texas growers who share our approach and vision.

The High Plains

We planted our first grapes in 2018 in Brownfield, Texas. Our first varietals were Malbec, Sangiovese, and Tempranillo. Each year we have added additional varietals. We currently have 27 acres and 15 varietals planted at our vineyard in Brownfield. Our approach is to have small plots of various varietals to determine which ones produce the best fruit on our property. We will then expand those varietals that flourish. This will allow us to “listen to the land” as part of our commitment to curating the best Texas wine we can deliver!

The Hill Country

In 2021 we purchased our property in Fredericksburg, TX. Our production facility, tasting room and 8.5 acres of vines are located on 38 acres in the heart of the Hill Country. In 2022 we planted our first 3 acres of Albarino and Petite Sirah. We will planted 10K vines in 2023 which will include expanding the acreage of Albarino and Petite Sirah and the addition of Montepulciano and Syrah. While these new plantings won’t produce a harvest for 4 -5 more years, our guests will get the opportunity to watch them as they grow, mature and turn into the amazing product you pour into your glass! Come watch us grow….
